Our Centennial

Celebrating 100 Years

Neighborhood Music School remains committed to its mission of ensuring community access to quality arts education. Through programming investments, public events and financial aid and scholarship support, NMS reaffirms its commitment to the Greater New Haven community.

Celebrating Our Centennial

Throughout the year we'll be celebrating in creative and unexpected ways. We invite you to join us at these and other upcoming events:

100 at 100: Oct. 2, 2011, 4-7 p.m. at 100 Audubon Street. One hundred performers at 100 Audubon Street added up to one amazing night! We filled the rooms and hallways of our school with 100 performing artists including faculty, current students, alumni and some special guests. It was a one-of-a-kind evening! See a slideshow.

100 Nights: Throughout the Centennial year, 100 of our closest friends will host salon-style parties featuring performances by NMS artists. Each party will be intimate and memorable - and help support NMS. For more information contact the Development Office at 203-624-5189.

Faculty Performance Series: Throughout the 2011-2012 academic year, these free public  concerts will bring together the diverse New Haven community. The schedule includes our afternoon concert series, Bach’s Lunch; a Sunday series, Bach’s Brunch; and our popular Faculty Fridays performances. See the calendar of events.

Centennial Ball: Dec. 3, 2011, 6 p.m. at the New Haven Lawn Club. Ball-goers embarked on a unique journey through the last 100 years of music and dance. NMS artists invaded the Lawn Club for a night of delightful entertainment. Revelers chose their own adventure with a dinner performance in one of the several featured spaces and then danced the night away! Find out more.

High C: June 10, 4 p.m. at Woolsey Hall. This celebration of the Centennial will dazzle with dozens of performances by NMS faculty, students, alumni and special guests. Our premier ensembles will be featured -- along with the premiere of a new work!
